Description
Welcome to the breathtaking landscape that is the Catalan Coastal Mountain range, located about 40km inland from Barcelona. Your rock climbing experience will take place near the town of Montserrat nestled within these beautiful mountains. In this half-day rock climbing course I will get you familiar with climbing and teach you the basics. The rock faces and gorgeous boulders in the Montserrat range provide the best environment for beginner climbers.
No previous climbing experience is required and only a minimum fitness level is needed. I will address relevant climbing theory including the equipment, the most efficient physical techniques and pertinent safety guidance for when you are climbing.
Thereafter, You will learn to follow my lead climbs at your own pace. Your confidence will grow quickly and before long will be reaching the top of the climbs and enjoying the amazing views over the mountainside and Barcelona.
Montserrat provides a breathtaking setting and I am an enthusiastic teacher waiting to introduce you to the world of rock climbing. I’m confident once you experience climbing with me in this landscape you will be left wanting more. I look forward to sharing my passion with you in Montserrat.
If you have been introduced to rock climbing before but don’t have much experience then join me on this full day climbing to get further experience and learn to lead a climb.

Price details
- All technical equipment for the group and for individuals will be provided by guies de Montserrat. It is advised that you wear clothes suitable for the time of year, e.g. shorts and tshirt for summer, trousers and jumpers outside of summer. I would also recommend that you bring some food and water for the day to keep your energy levels up!
Itinerary
Day 1: Rock Climbing
The day will begin with relevant theory that will cover important safety concerns, introduce the best techniques to employ on the climbs and the equipment you will be using.
After the theory you will follow my lead climbs and this will provide the opportunity to refine your technique in the secure practice. I will supervise all your climbs and coach you in how to move up the rock face

Mountain Guide
Right in the heart of Catalonia, well connected with Barcelona, stands the Montserrat massif; a mountain with big natural, cultural and spiritual significance that rises sharply to 1,236 meters from the top of St. Jeroni.
