Half-Day Hike of the Lausfer Lakes from the Italian Side

Follow me on this classic hike to the amazing Lakes of Lausfer from the Italian side and see the splendor on both sides of the border! I will show you no less than 10 lakes in the pristine mountain country between France and Italy.

In the heart of the wilderness between these two countries are some of the most breathtaking views of the Alps. Traversing alpine valleys between immense peaks, I will guide you to the hidden lakes among the mountains.

Following an old military track, we will cross the border between Italy and France twice by car and twice on foot, so you will have the chance to see the rare beauty of the region from both sides of the border. The imagery is seemingly out of a painting, and you will have ample opportunity for photographing the expansive mountainside.

Once on the trail, we will keep our eyes peeled for the wildlife in the surrounding area. From eagles and vultures to chamois and mouflon, we will have every type of fauna to spot and enjoy! You may be fortunate enough to catch a Young ibex out for a stroll with its mother! The wildlife is as incredible as the landscape.

Leaving from the tourist office of Isola 2000 at 8:30am, we will spend about 6 hours trekking 500 meters to a height of 2,400 meters.. Enjoying a cup of coffee at this altitude will be the perfect culmination of our hike.

If you would like, we can finish the hike at the Sainte Anne de Vinadio, the highest religious sanctuary in Europe. We can also grab a bite to eat here, as well.

This program is open to everyone. It is a moderately paced trek, so you should be prepared for a sustained day of hiking – and the unimaginable views that will accompany it!
