Cerro Mercedario (6770 m) is the highest peak in the San Juan Province. It’s part of the Cordillera de la Ramada mountain range. Also, it’s the eighth highest mountain in the Andes. It’s very popular among climbers that are looking for a challenging ascent in the area. And it’s perfect if you want to avoid the crowds that attempt to climb Cerro Aconcagua (6962 m)!

However, it requires climbers to be really fit, as its physical difficulty is graded as ‘high’.
