Ascending Mount Lagginhorn above Saas Grund in the Valais, through the south ridge, a 2-day climbing traverse with Maxime, a Swiss IFMGA mountain guide.
Alps
2 Days
Jun - Sep
Climbing Mount Lagginhorn (4010m) through its south ridge offers several possibilities : a glacier walk, a sunny ridge with a great rock, a 4000-meter summit and an alpine descent, but more easy.
I enjoy very much guiding my friends and clients on Mt Lagginhorn because:
it’s an aerial climb on a good rock at 4000 meters high;
the difficulties are concentrated in the ascent, the descent is more easy;
we can access the start of the climb with the lift which allows us to save some time and so eventually, do some climbing on day 1.
Facing the Mischabels mountain range, the Lagginhorn is very often considered as an easy 4000-meter mountain because of its normal route. It also the lowest 4000m peak of the Walliser Alps.
I like very much doing a traverse from the south ridge to the normal route. It’s a very varied and interesting course which includes all the aspects of a mountaineering ascent.
From the bottom of the mountain, we take the Hohsaas lift which allows us to save some energy for the next summit ascent !
The meeting point will be in Saas Grund from where we will reach either Weissmieshütte (2726m) or the Hohsaas mountain hut (3200m), 2 refuges from where it’s possible to start the ascent of Lagginhorn on day 2.
My guiding fee for the 2 days are 1300 CHF. If you are with 2, the price will be 650 CHF per person.
Please get in touch with me if you are interested in ascending Mount Lagginhorn with a mountain guide. It will be my pleasure to guide you there and let you enjoy this amazing traverse. We can also combine this climbing adventure with another 4000-meter peak of Saas Fee. Contact me and let’s discuss about your wishes, I can then propose you a tailor made program!

Mountain Guide
From the beautiful Valais summits to Greenland, I have learned to know and respect the mountain. This passion, which took more and more importance in my life, has become my profession. In addition to my physical geography studies at the Lausanne University, in 2007 I started the course as an aspiring guide. I obtained my mountain guide certificate in 2009.
