Gudauri is a developing ski resort area in Georgia, just a 2-hour drive away from Tbilisi, the country’s capital. This fascinating mountainous area in the Caucasus range will be our base for this 1-week ski tour and freeride adventure.
We meet you and pick you up at the TBS airport to begin the road to Gudauri on the first day. After checking in to the hotel, you will need a good night’s rest for the following days. From the next morning, you will spend each day discovering the backcountry of the Caucasus mountains and following me or one of my team of local IFMGA/GMGA guides on exhilarating powder runs.
I am pleased to guide my guests through the cultural aspect of this ski tour and free ride week in Gudauri also – not only will you follow me through some of the best-kept secret spots, but you will also skin up through a local 9th century built monastery, where monks will greet us with hot tea to keep us warm during our descent.
Georgia is full of culturally rich experiences, even on the mountain while skiing. For me, it’s very rewarding to experience the happiness that comes from my guests when they discover the incredible and shocking aspects of Georgia’s backcountry.
I fully recommend that you have great off-piste and freeriding skills. You will also need to be efficient in different types of snow terrain including deep powder, heavy snow, crusty snow, and more. Having adequate knowledge of ski tour equipment and usage, along with a good fitness level is necessary. Keep in mind that every day we will spend around 7 hours on the mountain – with 700 to 1000m of vertical climbing per day.
I look forward to welcoming you to Gudauri, a place I consider home and one of the best ski areas in Europe – with magnificent landscapes and a culturally rich experience.
Please contact me so we can begin planning your adventure. If I am not available, one of my team of certified IFMGA/GMGA guides will be guiding you through this unforgettable tour in the Caucasus of Georgia.
You will arrive at Tbilisi International Airport and transfer to the hotel in Gudauri. You will have dinner, and enjoy the town of Gudauri for the night.

Mountain Guide
I am a IFMGA/GMGA certified mountain guide, with more than 10 years of experience in the Caucasus mountain region.
Mountain Guiding and alpine sport is the most gratifying passion in my life. As an official team member of the United Federation of Georgian Mountaineers, I have led some of the most challenging ascents and expeditions in the Caucasus. In addition, I have completed successful ascents in Himalayas, Tian Shan, Pamir, Alps, and more. Aside from climbing, I have a big enthusiasm for ski mountaineering. I have completed many first ski descents in the region, such as Mt. Tetnuldi West Face descent, and more. In the winter and spring season, I enjoy guiding my guests on the backcountry of the Caucasus mountains, and sharing my experience and love for this region. In the summer season, I guide groups up iconic peaks such as Mt. Kazbek and more.
I am the founder of The Alpine Project, a full-scale mountaineering tour agency. My team and I are experts in the region, and we are deeply inspired by guiding our guests and welcoming them to Georgia. Please contact me if you have any further questions about my experience and my offers.

I had a 10 out of 10 experience summiting Tetnuldi with The Alpine Project. Answered all my questions in advance, got picked up in Tblisi as planned. Had an nice journey going through Georgia by car with good food and information by the guide on the way. Summiting Tetnuldi with a guide of the highest quality and have 0 regrets choosing this professional company guiding me. Will love to come back for an other summit with them. -Asgeir

The guide left us 1 day before the trip finishes due to the weather, leaving us with a driver that didn,t speak english. Also he didn,t give us much options to practice the sport due to the weather while other guides act diferently.

Had a great time with Beka on Tetnuldi. He's a very competent and credentialed guide. He genuinely wanted to make sure that I had a great experience. In addition to the climb, he provided a lot of extra knowledge and history about the local region, and introduced me to some great Georgian cuisine. I will be using him again for future climbs in beautiful Georgia.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
