Description

Join me on this 3-day ski tour and let’s enjoy great descents from Piz Medel (3210 m) and Piz Cristallina (3128m), in the isolated and beautiful region of Passo della Greina (2355m).

Greina is a mountain pass lying between the cantons of Graubünden and Ticino in Switzerland, across the western Lepontine Alps. We will spend 3 amazing days exploring this untouched area. The Medel Hut will be our base, where we can also taste the Graubünden specialties.

On the second day of the tour we will climb Piz Medel, with a great descent, skiing down the Lavaz Glacier. We will spend apend another night in the Medel Hut. Finally, on the third day, we will climb the Piz Cristallina and enjoy a fantastic descent into the beautiful Val Medel.

The Piz Medel massif overlooks the Greina. The mountain has several summits and Piz Cristalina is one of them. You will discover a spectacular area with this unforgettable ski tour. You can check the day-by-day itinerary below.

Itinerary

Day 1: Medel Hut

Ascent to the Medel Hut (2534 m) from Fuorns. Ascent 1200 Hm.

Day 2: Piz Medel

We ascend Piz Medel (3210m) with a great descent on the Lavaz Glacier. A short run takes us back to hut again where we spend the night. Ascent 1380Hm- Descent 1380Hm.

Day 3: Piz Cristallina

On our last day, we climb the Piz Cristallina (3128m) and enjoy another fantastic descent into Val Medel. Ascent 900Hm- Descent 1900Hm.
