Gran Sasso is an Italian mountain located in the central region of the country, in Abruzzo. It is one of the main highlights of the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park, in the Apennines mountain range.
The Apennines, compared to the Alps, have lower altitudes and don’t have glaciers. But this doesn’t diminish their appeal. They have an incredible wilderness, natural and environmental values that have been lost in the populated and exploited Alps.
In particular, the Gran Sasso group, from a strictly mountaineering point of view, does not miss anything. We find rocky walls, deep valleys and often abundantly snow-covered terrain.
During this week we will ascend different beautiful peaks such as Monte Rapina, Monte Pesco Falcone, Camicia, Monte Aquila and Monte Rotella. Have a look at the itinerary below for more detail.

poor weather limited the experience. We had hoped for a guide more familiar with the area, our first and last night were in a remote place requiring an hours walk. We only learnt about this on the day of departure. otherwise no problems
