The Ultental Valley, in South Tyrol, Italy, offers great ski touring terrain. Although this area is not as well known as other corners of the Alps, you’ll be amazed by its stunning landscapes and wide variety of terrain.
Geographically, the Ultental belongs to the Ortler Alps. Its peaks extend for over 40 km, from the 3439m high access point in the west to the 2443m high Naturnser Hochjoch in the east. Countless peaks, from easy to challenging, will provide us with 800 to 1600m long ascents. We’ll enjoy unforgettable views of the surrounding peaks and mountain ranges!
We’ll be staying at the Vitalhotel Rainer in St. Walburg. There, we’ll enjoy some serious pampering. If you like Italian cuisine, I can assure you that you’ll love this hotel!
On the first day, we’ll meet at the Vitalhotel Rainer at around 5pm. Then, from days 2 to 7, we’ll explore the area on our skis. On the last day, we’ll leave right after the ski day is over.
You need to have some ski touring experience to participate in this tour. Additionally, you need to be able to ski on all types of snow and all types of terrain. Please be aware that a good fitness level is also necessary to handle the ascents (around 4 hours per day).
If this ski touring weekend in the Ultental Valley sounds like fun, contact me now and we’ll arrange all the necessary details! Tired of the crowds and want to spend some time away from the ski resorts? Then this program is perfect for you!

Mountain Guide
My passion for nature and the mountains led me to become a mountain guide. I started my career as a pilot and, for a while, dedicated my life to university. However, over the years, my love for the mountains increased.
Since then, I have been working as a mountain guide, taking my clients on great ski and climbing adventures. I guide around my country and also around Europe: Spain, Italy, France, England, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Norway. I sometimes also go to Chile, Canada, Nepal, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.
As an IFMGA certified mountain guide, it is a pleasure for me to guide people from all over the world to these amazing destinations. My main objective is to have you enjoy a great time in the mountains while keeping you safe.
I invite you to have a look at the mountain programs and tours I propose. In the case you want to join one of them and if I'm not available, one of my colleagues will guide you.

Rudi was awesome. Very knowledgable and gave me a lot of climbing pointers for via ferrata. Also, super helpful with recommending other great sites in Austria and Germany. I hope to climb with him again when I’m back in central Europe.

Rudi is an experienced mountaineer with a great deal of knowledge about the area and trails available. He coordinated closely with me to determine my skill level and objective for the hike. It was an absolutely terrific day.

Explore-Share took advantage of my inexperience. I had asked for a beginner level trip, instead, they recommended me a rather advanced trip. Neither Explore-Share nor the guide were forthcoming with information until the very last moment. The guide sold my participation to another outfit about a week before the trip. Neither Explore-Share neither the guide are trustworthy and can be relied upon in making arrangements.
