Join me on a charming and pleasurable 1-day Via ferrata climb of the exquisite Aoos Valley and you will not regret it one bit!
Located near the town of Konitsa, the Aoos Valley is believed to have had a human presence for close to 10,000 years, and its relatively unspoiled terrain is enveloped by four towering peaks, Mount Smolikas, The Tymfi massif, the Vassilitsa dual peaks and Trapezitsa.
Assembling in either Ioannina or at the delightful Konitsa old stone bridge, we start our Via ferrata from the Tibetan bridge crossing, which was originally built in 1938 but was then subsequently restored to its current glory in 2010.
We will wind our way along the tranquil and alluring Aoos river, with its vivid colours and striking surrounding landscape sure to leave an impression, as will the fresh air and delightful, scenic views of trees, rocky ridges and majestic mountains.
From here we hit the old path and continue along this circular route around the river, culminating in our return to the old stone bridge. It truly is the perfect place to get to grips with Via ferrata climbing and is sure to whet your appetite for more of it!
Fall in love with Via ferrata’s in the Greek summertime– sounds romantic, so book now!
If you are interested in rock climbing instead, I also offer 1+ day rock climbing in Meteroa, Greece
Alternatively, sport climbing is something else I offer, such as a 3-day sport climbing trip in Leonidio, Greece
– Meet at Ioannina or Konitsa stone bridge
– Via ferrata for 3-5 hours
– Return to Konitsa stone bridge and/or onwards to Ioannina

Mountain Guide
I was born in Piraeus, but I work and live in Ioannina, a city located by a lake and surrounded by mountains. I am passionate about nature! And I love exploring it any time of the year while hiking, rock climbing or skiing.
I started mountaineering & climbing at the age of 18. Since then, I have climbed most of the slopes and peaks of the Greek mountains.
Some of the experiences that changed my life were climbing Μatterhorn’s north face, as well as being on the Greek expeditions at Pamir - Khan Tengri and Κorzinefskaya, Κumunism as a member of the National Greek Expedition Everest 1996.
I am an IFMGA Mountain Guide, member of the Vorarlberg Mountain Guides Association (Austria) and Instructor of Ski Mountaineering and Rock Climbing for the Hellenic Federation of Mountaineering & Climbing (Greece).
Guiding people that seek for unique experiences in nature and sharing my passion for the mountains of my country with them really makes me enjoy my job… it’s like having fun with friends!

I had a great day with Iraklis. We did Pillar of Dreams and he definitely knew the route. I felt safe the entire time and would climb with Iraklis again if I’m ever fortunate enough to make it back in the area. Meteora is amazing and well worth the trip
Daniel
Iraklis is an excellent guide very knowledgeable and personable but unfortunately it was sprinkling (rain) on and off so our full day trip turned into 2 h 2 pitch climb. We are looking forward to the pictures he took
Irina
Great time climbing Ostkante route in Meteora with Iraklis.
Niklas
