Description

Cotopaxi National Park is located in Latacunga town, 50 kilometers south far Quito, Ecuador. When you enter to the park you won’t only see a vast forest and green lands forming a perfect place for more than 100 species of birds and 45 species of trees around. All this incredible landscape has also a millennial 5.897-meter volcano in its center, called of course Cotopaxi Volcano.

You cannot tell me all this scene isn’t perfect for a whole trekking day guided by a mountain expert who will make you live the best exploration experience. That’s why you are reading it! Look at the following itinerary in order to be completely convinced that this trek trip is planned specially for you.

We will leave Quito early in the morning in order to be taken to the Cotopaxi National Park entrance once we drive along the famous Avenue of The Volcanoes. When we get there, we will have an introductory talk about the park, the Cotopaxi Volcano and all its flora, which includes llamas, wild horses and condors.

Then, we will enjoy a short hiking around the Limpiopungo Lagoon where we can admire an unforgeable viewpoint of the park, the Andean paramo’s areas and alpine plants wherever you look.

The following adventure will be the climb up to Cotopaxi Refuge at 5.000 meters of height. In order to fulfill the objective we will drive to a parking lot at 500 meters far from there. Once in that place, we will rest and lunch to celebrate such a fantastic day. We will return to Quito by the afternoon.

Now you have all the information you have no excuses to contact me and plan your own experience and trek in Cotopaxi National Park.
