Description

Zermatt is situated in the German-speaking region of the canton of Valais, in southwestern Switzerland. With an elevation of 1,620m and and many north facing slopes, it offers huge areas of powder snow. In this outing I want to take you there for an unforgettable freeride ski experience.

As a ski destination, Zermatt has the longest winter season in the Alps, with excellent snow conditions from late November to the end of April. Visitors from all over the world come to visit this famous ski resort surrounded by many four-thousanders such as Matterhorn (4,478 m).

You can choose the area you prefer to ski on. We can go to Sunnegga, Gornergrat, Klein Matterhorn or Cervinia. And according to your wishes and your ski level, we will create the best itinerary for you. Maybe you prefer short turns and admiring your tracks at next stop, or you just want to fly down the mountain. Either way, I guarantee wide endless powder slopes in a fabulous alpine landscape.

The highest cable-car of Zermatt leads to Klein Matterhorn (3,883 m), a huge peak with panoramic views in all directions. We can also take the highest open-air railway in Europe, that runs all the way up to the Gornergrat’s summit (3,089 m). But real fun will be away from the official slopes, so expect to put many miles of off-piste powder under your skis!

So, if you want to ski on a large field of untouched snow, contact me for this day tour in Zermatt. I’ll be happy to guide you to its best off-piste secrets!

And if you are looking for an even more extreme adventure in this same area, check out my Zermatt Guided Ski Touring.
