Description

Take on a few of the most notorious summits of the High Atlas! This five-day mountaineering program will send you on an exciting North African adventure and immerse you in the remarkable culture of Morocco!

The High Atlas Mountains feature unique and unsual terrain, which have made their summits some of the most sought-after in recent years. The journey through the rich and diverse country of Morocco to its prime climbing destinations is both exciting and fulfilling.

With close proximity to Marrakesh, this range is extremely accessible. The immensity of the massif, along with the location, make it an appealing expedition for all travelers. The landscape is specific to North Africa, and it allows climbers a new climbing experience that they may not have anywhere else in the world.

Your program is designed to get you to the top of some of Morocco´s highest peaks. During the trip, you will summit Aguelzim (3,500m), Temezguida (4,089m), Ras (4,083m), and Toubkal (4,167m), the latter being the tallest point in all of North Africa.

Aguelzim will prepare us for the more ambitious peaks over 4,000 meters. Temezguida and Ras are two summits of Ouanoukrim, and by ascending them and Toubkal you will reach the top of the three highest peaks of the High Atlas. Not bad for a five-day adventure.

The mountaineering tour will also take us into the fascinating Moroccan culture, where you will immerse yourself in local cuisine as we explore the countryside and the mountains. With my guidance, you will discover its hidden gems and charms, all with the eye of a local.

This is one of my favorite trips, and I am extremely happy to share my expertise with you. I can guarantee you will have a safe and completely satisfying time learning about a new culture while taking on some of the most stunning and impressive landscapes of the entire region.

This is a sustained trip, with some challenging climbs and scrambles, so you will want to be in good physical condition and be mentally prepared for an extended trip into the remote mountainside.

Book this High Atlas program now and take just five days to top its three highest peaks on an unforgettable adventure!

We can also trek through cultural villages on our way to the top of Toubkal! Or we can do some trail running at Toubkal!

We will walk from Imlil over the Tizi Mzik col and to a high pasture gite. Its remote location is a perfect place to stay the night and get used to our new surroundings.

From Azib Tamsoult, our next stop is the north peak of Aguelzim. After a reaching the top, we will head down to the Toubkal Refuge to prepare for the next two days.

This day is reserved for two summits over 4,000 meters. Ascending Ras and Temezguida will feature some scrambling and possibly some technical climbing, making this a true mountaineering challenge.

Our final peak of the trip is Toubkal, the highest mountain in the Atlas Mountains. After conquering this daunting and fulfilling challenge, we will return to the refuge.

Mountain Leader

I am a certified International Mountain Leader and a Summer Mountain Leader (UK). In addition, I hold a Diploma in Conservation and Wildlife Management.
Originally from Great Britain, I am now based near Marrakech, in Morocco. Actually, in a Berber town at the foot of the Berber Mountains.
The love for travel runs in my veins. In the Sahara I lived with nomads. In Siberia I met reindeer herders. In Mongolia I traveled with yurt-dwellers.
The stunning landscapes and nice people of Morocco have enchanted me, which is why I now live here. My goal is sharing with my clients the exotic beauty that I've discovered here.
The environment is of extreme importance to me. In particular, I'm interested in geology and birds of prey.
Besides speaking English and French, I can get by in Berber.
My work is not limited to this area: I also do the Tour du Mont Blanc trek in the Alps.
