On this program, we will enjoy an exciting hiking experience among the highest peaks of North Macedonia.
For 5 unforgettable days, we will discover the three main mountain regions of the western side of this country:
Mount Korab, with Korab peak (2764 m), the highest peak of North Macedonia and Albania
Šar Mountains, with Titov vrv (2747 m)
Baba mountain, with Pelister peak (2601 m)
These are the highest summits in North Macedonia and some of the best natural areas to explore. Apart from its beautiful landscapes, they are full of history and show a rich culture that will surprise you.
The following itinerary (see below) contains the complete information for this 5-day trip.
Regarding fitness level, you should be physically fit, and prepared for multiple hours of activity each day, from 3 to 6 hours (15 to 22km.) on moderate grades.
Keep in mind that the program can be changed depending on the customers’ wishes, flight organization and weather conditions.

Depending on the arrival time, and if time allows it, short sightseeing of Skopje’s and Tetovo. Next, we will be transferred to Popova Sapka, a ski resort where we will spend the first night.
Our hiking day will start early in the morning. We will go up to 2747 meters high to the Titov Vrv mountain. It is the highest peak of the Šar Mountains, very close to the border with Kosovo, in Northwest Macedonia. After that, we will descend. We take a break in the hotel and transfer to the Mavrovo National Park. The duration of the hike for today is 7 to 9hours, with a height difference of 1,050 m.
On this day, we start from the hotel and drive for 40 minutes to our starting point, at 1450m. The goal of the day will be to ascend Mount Korab, the highest peak in North Macedonia. The duration of this hiking day is 8 to 9 hours, with a 1325m altitude difference.
After the descent, we have a 2-hour transfer to Ohrid city where we will spend the night. As part of our transfer to Ohrid, we will stop for some refreshment and coffee, visit the Monastery St. John Baptist. Then, we will go to our accommodation in Ohrid city, rest in the hotel and have dinner.
Rest day in Ohrid or Hike in the National Park Galicica. Today we can enjoy a fine rest day in the city of Ohrid and its surrounding. There are several options like sightseeing of the city, by boat visit to the 10th-century monastery of St. Naum swimming or hike around 2-3 hours with views of the city and the lake. At the end of the day, we transfer to Bitola city (1 hour drive) and gather together for short sightseeing and dinner in the city.
Our starting point for the last day will be the Pelister National Park trailhead. Here we will hike up to Pelister Peak (2601 meters). The duration of the hike for this day is 7 to 8 hours with an elevation gain of 1240 meters. From the top, we will enjoy fantastic views of the surroundings. From the National Park, this trip will end with transportation to Skopje city. An option is to have late lunch in a local winery to try Macedonian food and wine.
