Highlights

  • Explore the lesser known, but wildly beautiful Kananaskis Lakes area.
  • Climb to the summit of the amazing Mount Joffre.
  • Camp under the stars in the Canadian wilderness, surrounded by the Rockies.

Description

Located in one of the more remote areas of the vast Canadian Rockies, Kananaskis Country, Mount Joffre (3,450m) is a fantastic peak to climb. However, what makes this 3 day adventure that will lead you to the summit of the mountain so amazing is the exploration you get to do before and after the climb.

Our trip will begin with a short drive from Canmore to the Kananaskis Lakes. Once there, we will hike toward the Hidden Lake. After that, we will continue on until we reach the beautiful alpine area around Aster lake, where we will camp for the night.

On the second day of the expedition, we will wake up, enjoy breakfast and begin our ascent of Mount Joffre. The ascent will involve rock steps and glaciated terrain. However, we will take our time and every precaution will be taken to ensure a safe, fun and successful journey to the summit, where you can enjoy some fantastic views. After the summit, we will descend and spend the night in our campsite.

On our final day, we will make our way back through the beautiful forest in the valley floor to our pick-up point. Afterwards, we will make our way back to Canmore.

We will be hiking for approximately 10 kilometers per day on this trip. As a result, participants should be in good physical condition. You should also have some prior mountaineering experience for the ascent and descent of Mount Joffre.

Definitely a hidden treasure in the Canadian wilderness, the area around Mount Joffre is spectacular. Filled with lakes, creeks, rivers, forests and wildlife, our journey toward the mountain will leave you breathless. To enjoy this adventure, just send us a request.

We can also lead you on a single day climb of the amazing Mount Victoria near Lake Louise.

Will was great wise and fun to spend the day with.

Phillip

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Lucie

All perfect

Amanda

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!
