Our trip will begin with a short drive from Canmore to the Kananaskis Lakes. Once there, we will hike toward the Hidden Lake. After that, we will continue on until we reach the beautiful alpine area around Aster lake, where we will camp for the night.
On the second day of the expedition, we will wake up, enjoy breakfast and begin our ascent of Mount Joffre. The ascent will involve rock steps and glaciated terrain. However, we will take our time and every precaution will be taken to ensure a safe, fun and successful journey to the summit, where you can enjoy some fantastic views. After the summit, we will descend and spend the night in our campsite.
On our final day, we will make our way back through the beautiful forest in the valley floor to our pick-up point. Afterwards, we will make our way back to Canmore.
We will be hiking for approximately 10 kilometers per day on this trip. As a result, participants should be in good physical condition. You should also have some prior mountaineering experience for the ascent and descent of Mount Joffre.
Definitely a hidden treasure in the Canadian wilderness, the area around Mount Joffre is spectacular. Filled with lakes, creeks, rivers, forests and wildlife, our journey toward the mountain will leave you breathless. To enjoy this adventure, just send us a request.
We can also lead you on a single day climb of the amazing Mount Victoria near Lake Louise.
