If you would like to get to know the beautiful Everest – or “Khumbu” -region, this trekking program is a perfect option. Be a part of this 15-day traverse in the midst of the overwhelmingly beautiful Himalayas.
The Everest Kala Pathar Trek is one of the most rewarding experiences in this region. The program begins at the exotic city of Kathmandu, where we will visit several attractions, including World Heritage Sites like the Durbar Square.
Next, we will fly to the beautiful mountain town of Lukla (2,800m) where our trekking adventure will begin, and will take us to the Khumbu region. Among the different outstanding places we will along this ancient route visit are:
the village of Phakding
Namche Bazzar as a gateway to the Khumbu region
the interesting gompa site, Pangboche
the famous Tengboche Monastery in Thyangboche

Sightseeing: visit to the main landmarks in the city, including the World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhu Nath) and the Bouddha Nath Buddhists shrine
Optional: do last minute shopping of personal items in preparation for the next day

Flight to Lukla (duration: 35 minutes)
Arrival in the Tenzing-Hillary Airport, Lukla (2,800 m) -Meeting with other crew members
Trek across the prosperous village of Lukla, towards Phakding (2,652 m)
Overnight in lodge
Trekking time: 3 hours
Pleasent trek, with few short uphill and downhill with multiple crossings over Dudh Koshi River
Visit to the Benkar village – views of Mt. Thamserku (6,608 m / 21,675 ft)
Arrival to the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo – permits checking point
Descent and gradual walk to Jorsale, the last village until Namche Bazaar
Crossing of the Hillary Suspension Bridge
Climb up towards Namche Bazzar
Stop at the Chautara to appreciate the view
Arrival in Namche Bazzar, the main gateway of Khumbu region
Overnight in lodge
Trekking time: 5 to 6 hours
Scheduled acclimatization day. A few hundred vertical feet during the day will do for a proper acclimatization

Relaxed exploration of Namche Bazaar, the main centre of the Everest (or Khumbu) region
Visit to the Tourist Visitor Center near the Sagarmatha National Park headquarters – Material on the first Everest ascenders, Sherpa culture and plant and animal life of the Everest region
Side trip up to Khumjung and climb up to famous airstrip at Syangboche – including the Everest View Hotel, with great views of the highest mountains on Earth
Visit to the Hillary School
Descent back to Namche Bazzar.
