This program is designed for people who want to experience the Oberland Massif. This massif is situated in the highest region of the canton of Bern, and includes areas like Lake Thun, Lake Brienz and the Bernese Alps.
During this unique adventure, we'll climb to the summit of the Eiger Mountain by way of a demanding, but incredible edge. Hence I recommend that all participants be in very good physical condition, as well as having some prior mountaineering experience.
Climbing the Eiger summit is a great opportunity to learn or improve all aspects of mountaineering. Therefore, I have prepared this course in order for you to review and learn some important climbing techniques such as:
How to evolve in extended rope
How to ensure a second and a main rope
How to conduct a safe descent
How to correctly place all protections
How to climb lead
At the bottom of this description you'll find a sample itinerary of this 5-day mountaineering course. Please keep in mind that it's only an example of the program. I can modify it at any time, depending on your level and the weather conditions.
Finally, I would like to let you know that departures are upon request. We can depart on any Monday of every week from the beginning of July to the end of August.
For further information, or if you want to book your spot, please fill out the form, and let's conquer the Eiger Peak!
If you are looking for more climbing adventures in Switzerland, I also offer a 5 day trip to the summit of the world renowned Cervin mountain, otherwise knows as the Matterhorn.
We’ll meet at Grindelwald at 10 am. We will then take a train ride to the Jungfrau station. After that we will walk to the Monschutte hut. We will eat dinner and stay for the night at the hut.
Breakfast at the hut. We will cross the immense glacial plateau. After that we will ascent to the Jungfrau ridge. We may find some snow and mixed terrain. We will have dinner and spend the night at the Monschutte Hut.
Breakfast at the hut. Ascension of the Monch mountain by its normal route. We will have dinner and stay for the night at the Monschutte hut.
After breakfast we will depart at night for the ascent of the southern edge of the Eiger. Mixed, snow and rock terrain awaits. We will return by the west ridge or by the same route. We will have dinner and sleep at the Monschutte hut.
Last breakfast at the hut. Afterwards, we will walk downhill toward the train. After that we will reach Grindelwald, where this great program ends.
