Description

Take a nice and easy hike starting from Referta on this half-day program in the main island of Madeira, in Portugal.

Our hike takes place on the eastern side of Madeira. We’ll depart from Referta and follow an old plantation trail. During the program, we’ll walk next to one of the levadas, a typical aqueduct that will allow us to explore natural areas that are difficult to reach. While hiking, we’ll have the pleasure to observe part of the wide variety of local flora and fauna. Also, we’ll get to see breathtaking panoramic views of Madeira’s north coast and the blue sea. I’m sure these sights will be unforgettable!

As I mentioned, the level of difficulty of the hike is low so you don’t need to have any prior experience to take part of the trip. Regarding the duration, keep in mind that we will cover a distance of around 9 kilometers, which will take us 3-5 hours of hiking.
