Description

Running along California’s eastern border with Nevada, the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains are the perfect place for an ice climbing adventure!

Starting from either Lee Vining or June Lake, nestled just to the east of the sublime Yosemite National Park, we will head high up into the mountains and find an ice wall.

Depending on your previous experience and preferences, we can find a wall that takes us a half-day (5 hours) or full day (8 hours).

There are plenty of great climbs of varying distances and difficulties, ranging from simple and short single-pitch routes to longer and more complicated multi-pitch climbs. Regardless of your abilities, we’ll find the perfect spot.

After driving up to our trailhead, we will make a scenic approach to the ice fall, trekking along snowy ridge lines and enjoying phenomenal views in every direction.

As we climb on the ice wall, we will also enjoy plenty of great views out over the rest of the sublime Sierra Nevada.

Depending on your skills and abilities, we can start the trip by going over the basic techniques needed for ice climbing before putting them to the test on an ice fall.

For more experienced climbers, we can just head straight out onto the ice falls and enjoy the high-quality and beautiful climbing.

So what are you waiting for? Book now for this unforgettable half-day or whole day Eastern Sierra Nevada ice climbing adventure!

If you like the look of this trip then I think you may also enjoy my 1-day guided climb of Mt Emerson’s southeast face!

What people are saying about Ryan

First class operation from beginning to end. Ryan (I believe owner or manager) provided the best customer service from the moment I contacted him as a result of a search on the internet. He set everything up with ease, always staying in touch and making sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend him for climbing at any level.

Ryan, Tim, Scott, and Ben were all very friendly, professional, and super knowledgeable. I know there's an inherent risk in climbing, but I'm confident I can use what I learned from this program and climb much more safely outdoors. I'll be signing up for their other programs!

We just had an amazing weekend climbing in the Mammoth area. Greg, our guide, was so talented and hilarious! I learned so much and we climbed tons of amazing varied routes. We laughed learned and climbed hard. Cant wait to do more with you guys! Thanks for everything Ryan and Greg!

Ryan was absolutely phenomenal. Lines were set and tied in well before our meeting time. He had a great game plan for us. I'll be booking again soon.

Ryan is truly a top notch guiding service. Ryan is more than accommodating to work with, and the rapport we have with the guides is unmatched. Keep up the great work!
