Description

Hiking on Réunion Island is fun. From loop hikes, point-to-point treks to return hikes, Réunion Island offers several options to choose from. These hikes are as wonderful as varied in terms of length and difficulty. So, join us as we take you on an exciting day on this beautiful island in the Indian Ocean!

Cirque of Cilaos and Bras Rouge is a moderate loop hike which offers excellent vistas of the Piton des Neiges and Cirque of Cilaos. We see the Bras Rouge or the Red Branch river multiple times we hike.

Cirque of Cilaos and the Salazes crest takes us on an off-beaten track. Taking us to the tuft that separates the cirques of Cilaos and Mafate, this moderate to sustained hike offers stunning views of the two circlets.

The sustained hike to the Cirques of Cilaos and the spectacular Mafate takes us into the Cirque of Mafate, passing through the Col du Taïbit. An ideal place for a picnic, it offers exceptional views of the Cilaos and Mafate cirques.

Hike through Cilaos and Ilet à Cordes leads to the base of the Piton de Sucre, letting us walk along a beautiful waterfall. As we return, we see the spectacular Ilet à Cordes. We return to Cilaos by taking a small local bus.

The gorges of Bras de la Plaine lead to striking basalt columns and arches. We enter from the beautiful village of Entre Deux and descent towards the Bras de la Plaine. Next, we hike up, crossing the river multiple times.

The Mal au Ventre and the Dimitile loop takes us into the woods, offering stunning landscapes of the gorgeous Indian Ocean, and the Cirque of Cilaos. We finally reach the Dimitile summit and descend along a picturesque forest path, crossing a few streams on the way back
