Madeira’s main island is known for its stunning diverse landscapes, levadas and unique flora and fauna. In this special place, you can encounter majestic waterfalls, tall mountain peaks, the famous Laurisilva native forest and beautiful coastal areas.
We offer many treks which range from 8 to 19 kilometers in distance and take 3.5 to 7 hours to complete. We hike to such places as Pico Ruivo, the highest point in Madeira, and Caldeirão do Inferno, a dramatic cascade surrounded by lush greenery. Here are just some of our routes:
Pico do Areeiro – Pico Ruivo – Achada do Teixeira (8 km)
Achada do Teixeira – Pico Ruivo – Encumeada (11 km)
Fajã da Nogueira – Caldeirão do Inferno – Ilha (19 km)
Meia Légua – Espigão – Eira do Mourão – Meia Légua (12.7 km)
Boca da Corrida – P. Grande – P. Jorge – Torrinhas – Lombo do Urzal (16.9 km)
Trekking is the best way to discover all the island has to offer. Join us on one of our many paths, and you’re guaranteed to fall in love with Madeira.
