Day hike to the summit of Castle Peak in Lake Tahoe

Castle peak is a beautiful peak that sits above the Sierra Crest, near Donner Pass. This gigantic mountain can be seen from almost anywhere in the North Lake Tahoe region. Join us on this exciting day hike where we will explore the marvelous peaks and valleys of Lake Tahoe!

Castle Peak is one of the most well-known hiking destinations in all of Lake Tahoe. It is made up of the remains of an ancient volcano. It’s mountain line is iconic and well known for being visible from Interstate 80. It is a colossal mountain with an elevation of 2775 meters.

We will begin our day of hiking on Donner Pass. Our course will take us up through the lush forests and vast estuaries of Castle Valley until we can see the incredible mountain line of Castle Peak. The breathtaking view that we experience at the summit is the greatest possible reward for all our hard work on this physically demanding hike.

Our team consists of experienced and certified mountain guides. Our guides have the most intimate knowledge of the areas we explore.
