Considered one of the most beautiful national parks in Utah (there are three others), if not the entire western United States, Zion National Park is an ideal hiking destination.
Making the challenging but rewarding hike up up to Observation Point is one of the best ways to see this stunningly scenic canyon.
The trail starts out simply but challengingly with a climb up numerous switchbacks, which were blasted out of the canyon wall.
About half-way up the switchbacks, you will veer left toward Observation Point and get some incredible views out over the river, canyon floor and toward Angel’s Landing.
Eventually, you will reach the crest of a small ridge line, stop climbing and begin to wind through a series of narrow canyons.
You will continue hiking through the canyons until you come out to the other end and begin climbing more switchbacks. After a bit more of this, you reach the top of the canyon walls and get a good look out over the surrounding plains.
From here, you will hike along the edge for awhile until you reach the cirque that is Observation Point. Take some time to enjoy the stunning view and rest a bit before returning to the canyon floor.
So what are you waiting for? Book now for this incredible one-day hike to Observation Point in stunningly scenic Zion Canyon National Park!
If you like the look of this trip then we think you will also enjoy our 1-day hike to Angels Landing, also in Zion National Park in Utah!
