Located less than an hour away from Seattle, right off of I-90, Talapus and Olallie Lakes make for the perfect summertime hiking destination!
After picking you up from your accommodations in Seattle, we will drive to the trailhead and begin our 6.2 mile roundtrip hike.
The adventure begins with an ascent up a moderate grade on a wide trail that winds through the shade of tall cedar and hemlock trees. After awhile, the trail steepens and we will follow a series of switchbacks up along the banks of Talapus Creek.
From here, the trail flattens out and the way becomes increasingly boggy. After climbing over a small crest, we will arrive at Talapus Lake.
For those who want to continue, we can head an additional 1.5 miles up the trail to Ollalie Lake, where we will have the option to swim, if the weather is warm enough and receive incredible views of Mount Rainier.
So what are you waiting for? Book now for this fun and scenic 1-day hiking adventure to Talapus and Olallie Lakes, just outside of Seattle!
If you like the look of this trip then we think you will also enjoy our 1-day hike along Summit Lake Trail, near Mount Rainier!
