If you’re up for a challenge, we invite you to join a professional guide and summit Mount Mitchell, the highest peak in the eastern US at 6,684 feet in elevation.
You’ll trek through pretty forest scenery that changes as your elevation increases. Expect to see cove hardwoods at the beginning of the journey and Red Spruce and Fraser Fir trees as you approach the top.
The hike begins at the Black Mountain Campground and the total elevation gain is 3,689 feet. It’s an 11.4 mile round trip with plenty of rough sections, so it’s an ambitious day hike but perfectly doable for experienced hikers in good physical shape.
Summiting this famous peak is bound to give you a sense of achievement, and equally rewarding is looking out on the incredible views from the top of the mountain. It’s especially spectacular in the fall when the leaves are many shades of yellow, orange and red.
Come to Mount Mitchell to enjoy the forest and complete a fun and strenuous hike. Leave inspired by the gorgeous nature and with a sense of satisfaction.

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!
