Hike to the breathtaking natural balcony of Maïdo that looks out across the stunning scenery of Réunion Island.

Rising on the west coast of the island, floating on the Indian Ocean, is the rocky and volcanic peak of Maïdo.

Standing above the city of Saint Paul, the peak holds panoramic views of the Cirque de Mafate, a beautiful caldera that was formed from the collapse of a volcano.

Pristine beaches protected by precious coral reef, rocky formations, thick forest, thrilling trails. The wild landscape outside of Saint Paul is breathtaking.

The trail leads all the way up to the 2,200-meter summit, passing through great forests of tamarind trees. If you’re in the area, then this day hike is a necessity.
