Description
Nariva Swamp, located in the east of Trinidad, is the largest freshwater wetland in the country and has been deemed a Wetland of International Importance.
Within it lies the Bush Bush Wildlife Sanctuary, a nature lover’s paradise that is home to more than 200 incredible animal species. Among these are Red-bellied Macaws, many kinds of amazing butterflies such as the Blue Emperor Morpho, Black-crested Antshrikes, Capuchin Monkeys and Red Howler Monkeys.
The sanctuary features a monkey viewing area. Howler Monkeys tend to be found on the branches of the larger trees, and it is a joy to observe them as they go about their antics in their natural habitat.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area.
