Description

Let’s explore the Scottish Isle of Skye, site of 12 of the most challenging Munros.  I will design a custom trip that will meet your needs!

For those not yet familiar with the world of Munros, these are the peaks in Scotland that rise above 3,000 ft (or 914.4 meters).  They are named after Sir Hugh Munro, the 19th century adventurer who first compiled a complete list of all 283 such peaks.  More recently, it has become a pastime for many to attempt to summit, or “bag,” as many of the Munros as possible.

Of the 283 Munros, 12 are located located in the Black Cuillin mountains on the island of Skye.  These are considered some of the hardest to complete, as they are linked by narrow ridges and complicated, sometimes exposed, scrambles.  As the trail can be hard to follow, past hikers have found that a guide with knowledge of the route can be helpful in ensuring success.

I offer customized guiding services around the Munros of Skye.  In my experience, all 12 Munros can be completed in 4 days by someone with a decent level of fitness.  However, I am happy to offer my services for shorter trips as well.  Other than the Munros, there are great mountaineering routes nearby that can be helpful for those who want to practice ridge traverses.  I am also happy to guide anyone who simply wants to spend a day outdoors enjoying the natural beauty of Scotland.  I can tailor these trips for participants of all experience and fitness levels.

Book now and I will design a trip no matter your goals: whether you aim to “bag” all 12 Munros, just a few, or simply want to experience some of Scotland’s stunning landscapes, I can help!

Mountain Guide

I am a fully qualified Mountaineering Instructor based in Fort William, on the west coast of the Scottish Highlands.
I have been guiding in the UK for 10 years and chose the Scottish Highlands due to their remote feel and beauty. Rock climbing, Ice climbing, mixed climbing and more can be done in this area and it is all so accessible.

We offer a wide range of trips with Ben Nevis guiding, the Skye Cuillin ridge and Glencoe guiding amongst our more popular trips.

What people are saying about Scott

Stewart

The guide was Hannah in fact and she was the best, it was a great day and Hannah was brilliant.. I would never have chosen the Pap honestly speaking, however, Hannah did the review also asked a bunch of questions and watched how we did at the beginning so she was confident that it was the right hike for us, and it really was. Please give her a big thanks and to you also for a great experience, the break in the weather really helped as well
