Description

Calling all interested trekkers to Tierra del Fuego! Over the course of this 7 day trek, you will see some of Patagonia’s most breathtaking nature.

Tierra del Fuego, whose name literally translates to “land of fire,” is located in Ushuaia, which is the southernmost city in the world. And as part of Argentine Patagonia, no part of this trip disappoints with regard to its landscapes. Whether we are making our way through grasslands, lakes, Andean mountains or sub-antarctic forest, you will never fail to be taken away by the region’s natural surroundings.

We begin our expedition trekking throughout the lakes district, making our way from Yehuin Lake to Fagnano Lake over the course of the first 2 days. In the 3 days that follow, we will take a boat across Lake Fagnano in order to reach the Sierra Valdivieso Circuit, and from there we will arrive in the Tierra Mayor Valley. For our final 2 days of the trekking portion of the trip, we will trek along the Cinco Hermanos Pass in order to arrive at the Beagle Channel for a final night of camping. After a nice hot shower in a hotel, we will have a final day to explore the town of Ushuaia, before departing the following day.

In total this trip lasts 9 days, with 7 days spent trekking, and 2 days to explore Ushuaia. Since most of this trip will be spent camping and trekking, we ask that visitors keep their physical fitness in mind when signing up. This trip also includes the “Sierra Valdivieso Circuit” which is featured in the Lonely Planet South America guide.
