Highlights

  • Enjoy the stunning scenery of Snowdonia National Park.
  • Scramble your way to the top of the highest mountain in Wales.
  • Reward yourself with a well-earned refreshment at the summit.

Description

Rising up 1,084 meters above sea level, Snowdon is the highest peak in Wales and the tallest mountain in the UK outside of Scotland.

While there are numerous routes that lead to the top, perhaps none is as adventurous or fulfilling as scrambling to this lofty summit via Crib Goch.

Beginning from the Pen y Pass car park, we will hike along the PYG track until we reach the ridge line of Crib Goch.

From here, we scramble up along the ridge line to the top of Crib Goch and then along another ridge until we reach the summit of Snowdon.

While none of the scrambling is overly technical the ridge line is quite exposed and will certainly test your nerve. Previous scrambling experience is highly recommended prior to booking this trip.

Once we've reached the summit, we'll enjoy the spectacular views out over our surroundings. The view from the top of Snowdon is the best one in the British Isles. If it is a clear day, we will be able to see Ireland, the Peaks District in England, southern Scotland and the Isle of Mann.

After we've taken in the view had had a quick refreshment from the summit cafe (not included in the price of the trip), we will hike back down to the car park via the PYG or miners track. Overall, we will cover about 11 kilometres of distance.

So what are you waiting for? Book now for this fun and exciting 1-day scrambling ascent of Snowdon via Crib Goch!

If you like the look of this trip, but are looking for something a bit more relaxed, then I think you will enjoy my 1-day ascent of Snowdon via the Llanberis Path!

Lesley

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
