With breathtaking and surreal landscapes, the magical island of Corsica offers the ideal playground for a 5-day snow sports tour in the winter season!
Located in the Mediterranean Sea, north of the Italian island of Sardinia, Corsica is one of the 18 regions of France and is perfect for both hikers and skiers. Thanks to its different altitudes, this island’s climate is quite varied and in the mountains, winter can be cold and full of snow.
My proposal is a fun and exciting 5-day snow sports tour where we’ll do some snowshoeing and ski touring through the most beautiful places in the island. Our meeting point will be in Ajaccio, Corsica’s main city. From there, we’ll transfer to the Alta Rocca region with a diversity of landscapes of exceptional richness.
During the days to come, we’ll discover the famous Cuscionu plateau, the Bavella peaks and the Ese Ski Resort among others. From cozy bed & breakfasts to remote igloos located in the heart of the Cuscionu plateau, participants will sleep in the different places we’ll find along the way.
Snowshoeing and ski touring can be one of the most special and fun ways to discover Corsica. So if you are ready to join me on this 5-day snow sports tour, I will be more than happy to lead you on this unique journey. Send your request!

Meeting point at Ajaccio airport at 11am. From there, we’ll go to the Ajaccio market where we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch. After we finish eating, we’ll explore the Napoleonic city or walk to the Sanguinaires Peninsula.
In the afternoon we’ll transfer to the region of Alta Rocca and we’ll distribute the equipment to each participant (snow rackets, poles, shovel, etc).
Meal and overnight in a lodge or bed and breakfast.
We’ll start at the foot of the Cuscionu plateau.
Surrounded by the highest peaks in Corsica, by the Mediterranean Sea and even Sardinia, we’ll walk from the sheepfolds of Biturgia or Funtana Bianca to Punta Funtana di Spartuta.
Overnight in a cabin or in an igloo located in the heart of the plateau (possibility of overnight stay in the cottage or the bed and breakfast).

Depending on weather conditions we’ll choose which peak to ascend.

We’ll walk through the Vaccia Pass and discover the plateau located on the North side. We’ll walk through the beautiful beech forest and the sheepfolds of Upper Taravu.
Early in the morning, we’ll transfer to the Ese Ski Resort located in the Bastelica village. There, we’ll marvel at the views of the Gulf of Ajaccio.

Mountain Guide
I am a mountain leader based in Quenza, Corsica. I am state-certified and offer hiking and snowshoeing tours around this beautiful island. And for your added safety, I'm also a firefighter and lifeguard. I enjoy the feeling of freedom I get when in the mountains and also the humbleness that they require. The mountain is wonderful when shared!
