Come with me as we venture to Mont Blanc via the Italian Route. Mont Blanc is the highest mountain in the Alps and reaching the summit is pretty epic. This is one experience you won’t forget.
The Italian Route to the top is one of the most challenging. It’s also the most rugged and beautiful. We’ll be able to take in some spectacular views of the Alps along the way.
We’ll start out at Courmayeur and head towards the Rifugio Gonella passing through the Miage glacier at 1,700 meters. This refuge will be our home for the night as we gather strength for the next day when we’ll reach the summit of Mont Blanc.
The next day starts very early and it will take us around six to seven hours to reach the top. The sense of accomplishment you’ll feel when you’re up the top is unbeatable, not to mention the views!
We’ll descend fully that day, or if you’d prefer you can descend partially and use day three to finish the descent.
This is a challenging climb and not for everyone. There are steep and icy sections which will require the use of crampons. So, to participate in this climb you’ll need previous mountaineering experience and a good level of fitness.
This really is the ultimate mountaineering ascent. Get in touch today to reserve your spot.
If you’re looking for more mountaineering opportunities in Italy, check out my trip where we ascend the Pizzo Andolla summit across two days.
On this day we’ll meet in Courmayeur and drive to the Val Comy. From here, we’ll hike to the refuge where we’ll sleep for the night. We’ll have dinner together and an early night.
We’ll get going between 1.30 am and 2 am and traverse a glacier on our way to the summit.
From the summit we can choose whether we want to descend all the way or take our time and spend another night in the refuge.
This will be the day you make the final descent if you chose to do it in two parts.
