Climbing the Matterhorn is an exciting challenge for any mountaineer! It is not easy to reach the stunning summit of this famous Alps peak. On this 2-day ascent, I will happily guide you and help you to the top of the renowned Matterhorn!
There are two traditional routes to the Matterhorn summit, one is on the Italian side, and the other on the Swiss side. We will begin our ascent on the Italian side. First we will head out from Cervinia to the Orionids hut. From there we will begin trekking to our overnight mountain hut. The first trekking day will be quite simple, and not to long. However, the next morning, the real challenge begins. We will set off early to reach the Matterhorn summit via the challenging Lion’s Ridge. This will be a technical ascent where we will need to use adequate gear to reach our goal. Once we have enjoyed the exhilarating victory of reaching the top, and the wonderful view, we will begin our descent. For this portion of the trip, we will take the Hornli Ridge on the Swiss side. This is a challenging route, usually less travelled.
For this excursion you will need previous mountaineering skills and a very good fitness level. The Matterhorn is a challenging climb and must not be underestimated. I also recommend you consider some prior acclimatization before setting off to this summit. Of course, I will at all times be there to help and guide you.
Are you ready for a challenging mountaineering excursion in the Alps? Then book your place and join me on this 2-day ascent of the Matterhorn!
I also offer a 5 day program to tackle the Mont Blanc ascent that includes 3 days of acclimatization!
We will meet in Cervinia, on the Italian side of the Matterhorn and climb for 5 hours to the Carrel hut where we will spend the night.
Our challenging 12 hour summit ascent and return will begin early in the morning. We will climb up the technically challenging Lion’s Ridge and the return via Hornly ridge on the Swiss side after we reach the summit.

Mountain Guide
IFMGA/UIAGM guide from Argentina.
I’m trekking guide since 2009, and became fully IFMGA certified in 2014.
I’ve climbed in many destinations in the Andes in Argentina, and also in Perú, Brasil, France, Spain, Italy and Austria.
I work together with two other colleagues and friends, Indio and Tomás, who are also IFMGA. So if I’m not available to guide you, one of them can do it.
The three of us live in El Chalten, where we practice our profession and develop our passion for climbing and skiing. And we want to share it by opening the doors to all those who want to live their Patagonian experience in a safe and unforgettable way.
We are also committed to mountain training. Therefore, we can give you the basic tools to move in the mountain safely and smoothly. That's why we offer courses for all levels depending on the terrain you want to train. We give lessons of rock climbing, ice climbing, glacier transit and mountain skiing.

Juan was so friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic during our climb. He took us on appropriate warm-ups to assess our skill level and find exciting routes. Also he gave us tips throughout to not only climb, more efficiently, but to be safe. He was extremely knowledgable and attentive, and always felt safe and comfortable.
Indio is awesome! Great teacher. Great fun to be around. Would climb with him again. Highly recommend him no matter what your climbing level is.
