Join our Ama Dablam expedition, guided by an experienced IFMGA mountain expert with deep Himalayan roots. Over an incredible 23 days, you'll enjoy a blend of exhilarating trekking and climbing as we ascend Kyajo Ri (6,186 m) – a hidden gem with mystical charm. This exciting climb is the perfect prelude to our ultimate adventure: reaching the summit of Ama Dablam.

If you're up for an extra challenge, you can also choose to trek to and summit Kyajo Ri, adding another rewarding milestone to your journey.     Itinerary

    Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

    Arrive in Kathmandu and immerse yourself in the energy of Kathmandu as you explore its historic landmarks, stroll through its bustling streets, and savor the flavors of local cuisine—perfect preparation for the adventure ahead.

    Day 2: Lukla to Phakding

    Our journey begins in Lukla. After an exciting flight to one of the world's most remote airports, we start our trek to Phakding. As we venture into the heart of the Himalayas, you'll feel the grandeur of the towering peaks while your body gradually adjusts to the altitude and surroundings.

    Day 3: Phakding to Namche Bazaar

    Following breakfast, we head on foot to Namche Bazaar, a key town in the region where we will spend two days to properly acclimatize. Enjoy a relaxed stroll through the town and take in its scenic views.

    Day 4: Namche Bazaar

    Today is all about exploring Namche Bazaar. Consider a visit to Shangbouche Hill, perched at 3,900m (12,795 ft), which offers breathtaking mountain vistas. From this serene spot, you can admire sweeping views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Konde Ri, and Khumbila—a perfect setting to immerse yourself in the Himalayan atmosphere while acclimatizing.

    Day 5: Namche Bazaar to Thame

    We trek from Namche Bazaar to Thame in about 6 hours, climbing roughly 400m over the 10 km that separate these towns. Along the way, enjoy the remarkable landscapes that unfold before you.

    Day 6: Thame to Mende

    In Thame, near the Tibetan border, you'll find a nearly 350-year-old Buddhist monastery. Our walk from Thame to Mende is leisurely and scenic, offering plenty of time to appreciate the peaceful landscape. We will be approaching the Kyajo Ri base camp.

    Day 7: Kyajo Ri Base Camp

    We arrive at the Kyajo Ri base camp, where we'll spend the next few days preparing for the climb. Standing at 6,186 meters, Kyajo Ri is a challenging peak, and those feeling up to it can attempt to summit.

    Day 8 to 11: Summit Attempt of Kyajo Ri

    While Kyajo Ri isn’t highly technical, its elevation above 6,000 meters in an alpine, glacial setting poses a significant challenge. Participants who feel ready will have the chance to summit. This climb also serves as excellent acclimatization for Ama Dablam and prepares you for our final goal.

    Day 12: Return to Namche Bazaar

    After the summit attempt on Kyajo Ri, we descend back to Namche Bazaar for a well-deserved rest. This leg of the journey also sets the stage for our return to the path leading to the Ama Dablam base camp, by which time our bodies will be well acclimatized.

    Day 13: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

    Our trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche is a breathtaking journey filled with stunning views, as you begin to truly enter the Khumbu region. We start early, leaving Namche’s busy streets behind as we climb the trail towards Tengboche.

    Day 14: Ama Dablam Base Camp

    We'll reach the base camp of Ama Dablam, where we'll spend the next week settling in. From this point, we’ll monitor the conditions for our upcoming summit attempt. Our camp is fully equipped with an expedition tent, dining area, bathroom, and other amenities to ensure a comfortable stay.

    Day 15 to 21: Ama Dablam Summit Attempt

    Guided by Marc, we'll ascend through various high camps as we aim to summit Ama Dablam. Throughout this climb, you'll experience the breathtaking beauty of this renowned route, with Camp 2 offering some of the most stunning views in the world.

    Day 22: Return to Kathmandu

    We'll return to Kathmandu by helicopter, giving us a unique chance to view the entire trekking route from above. As we fly over rugged peaks and deep valleys, we'll head back to civilization to celebrate our remarkable accomplishment.

    Day 23: Departure

    This program is designed for individuals with high-altitude and alpine experience—ideal for those who have previously climbed 4000m peaks, such as Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn, or similar summits.

    We will supply essential technical equipment including ropes, carabiners, and belay devices. Participants are responsible for bringing their personal gear, such as a harness, helmet, B3 alpine boots, crampons, ice axe, and appropriate clothing. Once your booking is confirmed, we will provide you with a comprehensive kit list for the expedition.

    Thanks to KooKoo climb for organising an epic trip in Costa Blanca,Spain!! There were so many sport climbing crags to choose from with mixture of leading and seconding as suited, the guides found some in shade even in June the warm months it was possible to climb most of the day. One day of climbing in a costal sea cave was really incredible, and the multipitch on Pechon Il Fach was spectacular!! Food by cook Yessica and the accommodation in Abdet great too.
