Climb the Pomerape volcano (6,280m), 9-day Expedition in the Chilean Altiplano

The Pomerape Volcano (6,280m) is one of many amazing volcanoes that can be found in Chile. And, on this 9-day trip, you will get to climb to the summit of this magnificent peak.

Neighboring the equally stunning Parinacota volcano (6,376m), the Pomerape Volcano is located in the Chilean-Bolivan Altiplano, right on the Bolivan border. This famous natural area is absolutely breathtaking, and during this adventure, and from the peak’s summit, you will get to enjoy views of the area that you will never forget.

We will be climbing the volcano via its north face. The route is not very difficult, and we will be stopping at different camps, which all offer their own unique set of views. As a result, you don’t have to be a mountaineering expert to enjoy this trip. However, you should be in good physical condition.

Along with the climb of the Pomerape Volcano, there are other great aspects of this trip for you to enjoy. Examples include nights in the towns of Putre and Parinacota, as well as an acclimatization climb of the Guane-Guane peak (5,190m). This climb will take approximately 8 hours, offers some great views and is great preparation for the climb of Pomerape.
