Description

The beautiful Tetnuldi mountain lies in the central part of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range. At 4,920 meters, it’s among the dozen highest peaks in the chain of mountains which stretches about 1,200 kilometers. The region is known for its unrivaled and well-preserved beauty, which you will experience first-hand on this 10-day journey.

There is a legend about Tetnuldi and the mountain that lies across from it, Ushba. As it goes, they were a couple but forbidden from seeing each other by their families. They prayed to become mountains, a prayer which came true upon their deaths and left them immortalized as two imposing peaks. Tetnuldi’s ever snow-capped peak appears to be a bride’s veil. When you see these two striking mountains you will understand how they evoke the image of star-crossed lovers.

The Svaneti region where Tetnuldi is located is fascinating for more than just its mountain folklore. Svans, as people from this region are called, uphold many unique traditions and speak in their own language. There are medieval stone towers and in Mestia you can visit the captivating Svaneti Museum of History and Ethnography.

This trip is moderately difficult, so it is not suited for absolute beginners but rather climbers with experience and a good level of fitness.

Don’t miss out on an opportunity to explore this breathtaking and unique place and reach the top of one of its most impressive peaks.

No info from travel agent essential information about imigration cards, That mens no info that taht cards important ( No Info dont loose them). About transfer from airport was very good. Food excelent. No additional guide for ascenting Elbruss. I had different habit for ascenting. The Guide doesnt like. TIn the Summit ascenting he said that i should keep same style climbing as them. And put all responsibility on me if i wpould refuse contnues ascent to summit. So i this result bad sleep. And did not feel well to make summit ascent. I refuses to go. So that day i am ski touring myself due to arriving Caucasus. Rest was ok. Please return 250 euros . So incomplete mission

I had the pleasure of having Ivan as a guide on Elbrus this year and he is first class. I would highly recommend using him on any mountain

This was my second trip together with Ivan Moshnikov. It's safe to say that everbody in our group absolutely loved it. We had a great time in Russia and it was an absolut blast. Even though we were not able to experience "true Mamay snorking powder" we still skied perfect snow for 7 days in a row. I threw my mobile in a corner in the first day and did not pick it up until 8 wonderfull days filled with skiing, amazing food, going to sauna and enyoing wonderfull company. However, if you a looking for a super lonely place, Mamay is probably not the right choice. The valley gets visited frequently by locals and other tourists. Still, there is enough place for everybody I think. 10/10 I will definitly come again. Many thanks to Yulia, Roma and Stepan!

It was a once in a lifetime experience! The organisation of the trip was very good and the team excellent - funny, smiling, very welcoming and as well we enjoyed good Russian traditional food. The snow was outstanding – every line, every day - crazy powder snow! The guiding was totally competent, experienced - knowing the area like their own pocket, we felt their passion. I hope the lonely lovely Mamay valley, where you can admire thousands of stars at night (while going to the toilet or cooling off from the sauna :-), will keep its charm and gentle tourism for a long time. The trip was an amazing unforgettable experience.

The guide was actually not Ivan Mishnikov but Denis who was a Junior guide with CetNeva. Overall the guide company is really good. Cook and the barrels where I stayed were excellent. Lisa, manager of CetNeva, were attentive and always present to help out. Guide was excellent in skills, just a little shy. Would recommend 100%. Thanks!
