Description

Come to the heart of the Himalayas for the adventure of a lifetime and climb Island Peak!

Join our experienced and certified guide for this 27-day trek through the foothills and up to some of the tallest peaks in the storied mountain chain.

Along the way, we will visit various cultural sites, including the home of one of our lead Sherpa’s as well as monasteries and UNESCO World Heritage sites.

We will also summit Kala Pattar and Lobuch East prior to the highlight of the trip: Island Peak. These first two climbs will prepare us for the final one and whet our appetite for the stunning Himalayan views that await us.

Expect astounding vistas out over Mount Everest, Kwangde, Tawachee, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kantega and Thamserku, among many others. We will also have the opportunity to see back down into the foothills and green valleys of Nepal too; a real treat for any mountaineer.

Climbing the 6.189-meter-high Island Peak is not overly technically difficult and fills you with a feeling of pride as you reach the top and get a front row seat to the top of the world: Mount Everest.

Every turn of this month-long adventure is incredibly scenic and you are sure to bring home memories and stories that will last you a lifetime.

In order to join the trip, you should have some basic mountaineering experience under your belt and be in good physical condition.

We recommend checking out our 2-day3-day6-day or 8-day mountaineering courses in Washington state and Alaska if you don’t have any previous experience.
