Description

Chimborazo (6,268 m) is a majestic peak in the heart of Ecuador. Also it’s one of its most iconic mountains. But, to reach its top, you’ll need to prepare and get acclimatized. So join me, on this mountaineering adventure to the summit of Chimborazo, ascending Cayambe (5790 m) and Iliniza (5126 m) first.

This program is exclusive for those with an excellent fitness level, previous experience and the courage to attempt these three summits in 8 days. My main objective will be to keep you safe while making sure you have a fantastic time.

We’ll begin by ascending the Iliniza Norte, where we’ll get some of the most breathtaking views of the Andes. Thereupon we’ll head towards Cayambe, this dormant volcano will certainly inject us with the right dosage of adrenaline to continue our expedition. Reaching its summit will require effort, as we’ll pass through glacier, snow, ice and rocky terrains. But once we stand at the summit we’ll get the most impressive sceneries as the perfect reward.

This program will take us to some incredible destinations, such as Rucu Pichincha, where we'll experience breathtaking mountain views and stunning landscapes. From there, we’ll continue to Quilotoa, known for its beautiful crater lake, offering us a chance to enjoy the scenic trails and vibrant culture of the surrounding villages. Lastly, we’ll head to Riobamba, a city rich in history and culture, providing the perfect opportunity to immerse ourselves in the heart of Ecuador's highlands.

Then, we’ll prepare for our last and final objective, the top of Chimborazo. Standing at the top of Chimborazo will take us two days; 2 hours on the first day, and 6-7 hours on the second day. But, breathing the pure air at its summit, will make it all worth it.

If you want to join this mountaineering trip, just request to book this trip. It would be my pleasure to be your guide on this adventure in Ecuador.

However, if you feel like you need more practice first, check this Mountaineering, Cayambe, Ecuador, 6-day Introductory course that I guide too.

Maybe find a hotel a bit closer to the mountain after Cayambe. Having the guide drive for 3h after the climb could be unsafe. But otherwise everything was perfect!
