At 4,674 m (15,335 ft), Cerro El Morado is one of the most emblematic peaks in Chile's Cajón del Maipo canyon. On this 3-day tour, we will climb to its summit and enjoy a unique mountaineering experience together.
Cajón del Maipo is a stunning canyon located just outside Santiago. El Morado is one of its most emblematic peaks and the namesake of El Morado Natural monument, a glacial cirque famous for its beauty. To climb El Morado, we will take 3 days: we will climb up to the base camp on the first day, then summit on the second and return on the third.
This is a challenging climb that involves a long summit day and lots of ice and rock. Therefore, it's important that you are confident in your climbing and that you have an excellent fitness level. Of course, I will help and guide you every step of the way. The mesmerizing views will be well worth all of your efforts!

Aspirant Guide
I am an aspirant IFMGA mountain guide, with extensive experience in Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Perú and Ecuador.
I live in Patagonia, in Villa Cerro Castillo, South of Chile, an incredible place with mountains and climbing opportunities everywhere - with many hidden spots yet to explore. I do a lot of guiding in South America´s High Mountains, techical ones, and in Patagonia too.
I also offer rock climbing and mountainering courses in different locations in Chile and in my city. During my tours, I try to create the best experience for my clients, and like to teach them about the cultural and environmental importance of the places we visit.

I climbed with Nicolás for two days in Coyhaique (crack climbing on Salto Chico and a multi-pitch on Cerro Mackay) and had a great time. Nicolás is a very nice and friendly guy and absolutely professional as a mountain guide. Totally recommended, and hopefully I‘ll get the chance to do some more climbing with Nicolás.
Highly recommend!
