A fantastic sport climb, the ascent to the top of the Cerro Morado is full of amazing views. Moreover, those views are not just of the landscape beyond, but also of the peak itself and its amazing glacier, which you will be crossing.
While not technically difficult, the climb can be tricky at times. As a result, caution should be exercised at all times. However, I will be there, every step of the way, to ensure your climb is as safe as it is fun. Furthermore, all participants on this trip should be in good physical condition.
Our adventure will begin in Santiago. From there, we will drive to the Cajon del Maipo and our base camp at the Laguna El Morado (3,100m). On the following day, we will make our way through the snow field and ascend through the north face of the peak before setting up camp on the glacier at an altitude of 3,700m. On the third and final day of the trip, we will climb to the summit of the Cerro El Morado. Afterwards, we will descend back down to the base camp and then drive back to Santiago.
If time is an issue, this trip can be reduced to just 2 days.
A wonderful peak in a great location, this climbing trip is perfect for anybody visiting Santiago that is seeking an adventure. To join me on this trip, all you have to do is send a request. I look forward to guiding you.
I can also take you to the top of the San Jose Volcano, which is also located near Santiago, on this 5-day expedition.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
