Tatras
+1 Day
Feb - Apr
Join me and enjoy a great freeride skiing tour for 1 or more days around Chopok (2024 m), the third highest mountain in the Low Tatras. This mountain range lies in Central Slovakia, in the Inner Western Carpathians.
I will take to discover this freeride skiing paradise around Chopok, with some of the best skiing terrain in the country!
We can start our tours either from Jasna, the best and biggest ski resort in the country, on the northern side of Chopok, or from the the Tale resort, located on the southern side of the mountain.
In Jasna we find more coulouirs and the terrain is steeper while in Tale the slopes are bigger and we can enjoy longer descents and forest skiing as well. It is also possible to combine freeride skiing with a ski touring day in the Low Tatras area or in the Western Tatras too.
I will first check your level on the slopes and then I will decide where to go, based on your level and on the conditions.
The best time for freeride skiing in the Low Tatras is usually from February to April, but it changes every year, depending on the conditions.
Find this trip interesting? Then send me a request, book your trip and get ready for a great freeride skiing adventure in Slovakia.

Mountain Guide
I was born in Poprad and I live, work and relax in the High Tatras. I have been climbing in this region for 15 years both in summer and winter.
Since 2001 I am a professional rescuer with a completed Bachelor education in Urgent Medical Care. Furthermore, I work in The Experts Mountain Rescue Service (in High Tatras) as an avalanche specialist.
In 2009, after passing the entrance examination for mountain guiding, I started the roundabout course. In April 2010, I became a mountain guide aspirant in the National Association of Mountain Guides of the Slovak Republic.
In 2011, during the final course in Chamonix - Mont Blanc (France) I successfully completed the course of mountain guide during four days of tests, under the strict supervision of Technical Commission NAHVSR instructors. Since then, I am a mountain guide with the IFMGA / UIAGM international license.
Thanks to this job (and hobby) I am pleased to expand the horizons of my clients and share with them my knowledge and experience as a mountain guide.

We spent 2 days with Pavol as he introduced us to ice climbing. Upon meeting him, we were pleased with his professionalism and his impressive experiences climbing around the world. It didn't take long for us to realise his expertise on the mountain, as well as his passion and down to earth attitude. Over 2 days, in 2 different locations, we got learn the basics of ice climbing on some serious ice falls. He gave us advice on techniques and strategies to get us climbing higher and more efficiently. The whole time Pavol made us feel very safe and in control, as daunting as ice climbing may be. In the end we had a great time and learnt a lot, and he left us hungry for more. He definitely showed us this is a sport and passion we can keep following. We hope to climb with Pavol again next time we visit Europe.
