Description

Discover the magic of Patagonia on this 1-day trek to Cerro Portillo, in Ushuaia.

Ushuaia is the capital city of the Argentine province of Tierra del Fuego. Located in the northeast of the city, Cerro Portillo offers great trekking options. This is where our program will take place.

We’ll meet in Ushuaia at 8 am to enjoy a full day of trekking. Take into account that the trekking ascent requires patience and determination. You can expect to find obstacles on your way. It is important to have a very good fitness condition so you can fully enjoy the adventure and its landscapes.

After going through the beautiful Patagonian forest we’ll finally reach the Cerro Portillo summit, from where we’ll be able to see the breathtaking landscapes of the famous ‘Andes Fueguinos’, the southernmost tip of the Andes mountain range.

La Mano and Olivia mounts, the Beagle Channel and the Ushuaia Bay will be other astonishing spots that we will admire from the top of Cerro Portillo. The duration of this trip is 8 hours. We’ll be returning at around 4 pm.

So if you want to be part of this trek in Ushuaia, all you have to do is send your request and book your trip now. It will be a pleasure to guide you there.

An easier but equally outstanding option could be this trek in Ojo del Albino, Ushuaia.

Gabriel was a terrific guide for Cinco Hermanos, which provides amazing views of Ushuaia and the surrounding mountain ridges and valleys. After a pleasant trail through the forest, you cross the main creek and ascend the benches below the peaks. After that we enjoyed terrific alpine climbing with steep snow, sometimes greater than 50 degrees. Route finding was a bit challenging, and the selection of the right gulley can greatly determine which hermano you are climbing. We ultimately summitted Hermano Cinco. Ghanks to Gabriel for sharing so much information about the mountains and culture of the region.
