Description

I am happy to invite you to this amazing hike in the Caucasus Mountains, the largest and highest mountain area in Europe!

Come and join me in this amazing trekking adventure through the Caucasus Mountains, just in the middle of the Black and the Caspian Seas.

Unlike in the Alps, in the Caucasus Mountains you will have a feeling of treading on an absolutely remote and unknown land. That is what makes this trip a unique experience.

The chosen place will be the Bezengi valley, surrounded by an incredible wild environment far from the urbanity. Many people say that this is the most spectacular trekking spot in the Caucasus Mountains. The scenery shows high peaks around, some of them over 5000 meters of altitude, as well as impressive glaciers.

The trailhead will be the Bezengi Camp at 2000m. It is a place with all the services and facilities you can imagine: hospitality, local cuisine, pub, warm wooded houses and a relaxing sauna. From there I will guide you through green moraines with the most outstanding views around us.

After entering the depth of the valley, we will find one of the most incredible places of the Caucasus Mountains: the Bezegi Wall. It is 12 km long rocky barrier sharper than a knife.

Regarding our campsites, during the trek we will rest in tents in really charming places. We’ll spend incredible nights in the middle of lush greenery or by the side of some turquoise lagoons.

For those in search of a bigger challenge I can also offer some summit attempts (in easy peaks). The prices of this trekking expedition will vary according to your individual needs and expectations.

So, get in touch with me for further information or if you want to continue with the reservation process. It will be my please to lead this hiking adventure in the heart of the Caucasus Mountains.

    Mountain Guide

I am a fully certified IFMGA guide since 2012. I have, however, mastered my climbing and skiing skills for many years before taking up guiding. I have participated in numerous climbing expeditions not only to the wild mountains of Caucasus (which I have gotten to know pretty well), but also to Nepal, Alps and have extensively climbed in many Norwegian areas. In recent years I have been resident in Norway, and I co-operate with my friends at Lyngen Outdoor Center as their chief mountain guide.

Fantastic trip. Guide was experienced and friendly. He took us to some amazing sites where we learned the basics of ice climbing and using crampons as well as using ice axis to climb and be safe on the mountain. We did a snow hike up Gaustatoppen which was an environment we’ve never been too and was an incredible experience. Wish we could have stayed longer! Trip was weather dependent as with anything but that didn’t take away a huge amount of things to do. Rjukan is a wonderful town with gorgeous scenery. Huge thank you to Pawel for this experience!

Pawel was a fantastic guide, I couldn’t have hoped for anything better for my first trip ice climbing. In particular I was very impressed with his ability to make sure that I was always challenged but never entirely out of my depth and his coaching helped me to develop without overloading me with information.

The most fantastic day with the most helpful, skilled and friendly guide and instructor! We had a really wonderful and exciting day, learned a great deal and enjoyed the truly spectacular scenery. Pawel was extraordinarily supportive, patient and impressive in his sharing of knowledge and for making it a great day all around. Big thanks and we look forward to the next time!

We were 3 guys heading out for our first time iceclimbling, and it was one of the best trip either of us had ever been on. Friendly and attentive guide, who clearly focused on our needs. We felt very safe throughout and our only regret is that we didn't have more days. Big thanks to Pawel for being a terrific guide.
