The northeastern region of Italy is located at the foot of the Alps. Nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean, there are plenty of activities crossing the spectrum of water and sky.
As is the case with much of Italy, the culture is as rich as the nature. Tolmezzo is a perfect example of this, combining the history of a timeless town near the Tagliamento River with the magnificent geoformations of the middle valley. It is set in the midst of forests, lakes, and running water that have made it a top destination year round.
Those rivers and streams that flow from the mountains have carved paths in the limestone that are prime routes for adventurers. In particular, these canyons have become great ways to explore some of the lesser-known aspects of the country´s beauty. And here, it couldn´t be more beautiful!
I can show you the vast number of paths through the canyons as we traverse them by climbing, swimming, and hiking our way over the rock. There are many jumps and slides, and the water here is rare in its purity. You will be tempted to sit and stay awhile in one of the many relaxing pools.
My knowledge of the region in all seasons gives will allow us to explore the most exciting parts of Tolmezzo! This trip is perfect for anyone who is interested in getting familiar with the region in a unique way. There is no better way to acclimate yourself to the pleasure of Italy!
If you´d like, we can even wrap up our day with a classic Italian meal!
Book this day trip IMMEDIATELY and schedule yourself an amazing opportunity traversing the canyons in a remarkably beautiful Italian region!
I can also take you on a longer canyoning tour through Belluno Gorge! Or we can spend a day on a more advanced canyoning course Frauenbach Gorge in Austria!

Mountain Guide
I am a IFMGA certified mountain guide and I'm passionated about nature. I was born in 1977 and before entering in the mountain life, I worked as a teacher in Borg Lienz.
I started training as a canyoning guide 15 years ago. Since 2009, I have also trained with canyoning leaders in Carinthia. Additionally, I have been on the road as a mountain and ski instructor. During the summers, I have guided a lot in Switzerland, where I took my guests to many mountains over 4000 meters high. My “motto” in the mountains and in life has always been the same: “Never stop exploring”
I work now for Carnicoalpin where our main objective is leading and accompanying you on steep mountains and great ski slopes with a particular focus set on safety.
For more information, please feel free to contact me. We can discuss about your wishes and the different options I offer. I will be really happy to be your guide and share a great moment with you!

Had an absolutely amazing experience with Tobias, from the training day to summiting the Matterhorn. Couldn’t ask for a better guide 10/10
John
Tobias knows the Matterhorn and the surrounding area extremely well. He will go at a level that is comfortable for you and help you reach whatever mountaineering goal you have. Another reviewer said Tobias knows every step on the Matterhorn - and this is absolutely true. He's one of the BEST around.
Roberto
i guess it was a little our fault for not investigating the fact that due to weather its not always possible to climb the matterhorn, but we where notice 1 week before that the weather was not good, so it was very complicated to organize something interesting as second option.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
