It is no secret that Bonaventure Island near Quebec is a paradise for bird-watchers. Join us as we take you on an amazing kayaking trip to this Island where you will not only paddle but also witness the rare and awe-inspiring wildlife of the area.
Located 3.5 KM from the Gaspé Peninsula, Bonaventure Island falls in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. It was converted into a migratory bird sanctuary in 1919 and since then it serves as one of the largest bird sanctuaries in the world given the overwhelming number of birds which either live here or migrate during specific seasons.
With our easy-to-follow techniques, the trip is suitable for both veterans and beginners alike. You’ll spend a day having so much fun and learning at the same time.
We will begin from the Gaspé Peninsula and brief you about the safety measures and the use of equipment. Post introduction, you are ready to paddle!
Get ready to witness gorgeous views of the pristine shoreline and spot numerous seabirds as you move ahead. You will be amazed to see a variety of mammals on the way. Look out for the northern gannet, one of the most common birds found here. You might as well spot the common murre, the black-legged kittiwake, blackpoll warblers and the Atlantic puffin.
And these are just a minuscule number of the treasure that resides there. It will be a trip like no other, we assure you!
So, what are you waiting for? Send a message now to reserve your seat on this exceptional sea kayaking trip to the Bonaventure Island where you will see uncountable birds! We also guide another sea kayaking trip to Percé Rock on the Gaspé Peninsula.
