Blue Mountain Lake is a great place to visit if you are planning to trek near the city of New York. This popular route in the Adirondack mountains leads to a 1.146 m rocky peak which has a fire tower on it.
During this trip you will trek through an attractive route, cross a rill and enjoy magnificent views. Take into account that as you go further, the trail becomes more and more steep.
At the top of Blue Mountain Lake you’ll find a historic benchmark of Verplanck Colvin, a man who made detailed reports about this area and contributed to the creation of the Adirondack Forest Preserve.
Please consider the hike may be slippery, especially when descending. This is why I strongly recommend you bring a good pair of climbing boots. Comfortable clothing is also essential. In addition, you may bring your own gear, and trekking poles and day-packs can be provided if needed.
This is a 4 miles (6.5 kilometers) round-up trip. You can join on your own or with a group of up to six people.
