I invite you to join me on a 7-day guided hiking trip in the beautiful Black Forest area in southwest Germany. The Black Forest is a large forested mountain range, located in the state of Baden-Württemberg. It is an amazing destination for a unique hiking adventure.
I am an experienced and certified Spanish-speaking trekking guide and I will take you on an unforgettable trip, visiting both the center, the north and the south of the massif. You will have the opportunity to discover the most emblematic natural, cultural and gastronomic places of this region.
During these days, we will be staying at the comfortable Gasthof Adler rural hotel, located on the beautiful Fohrenbühl mountain pass.
We will walk along the Feldsee Lake and the beautiful Titisee Lake, the largest natural glacier lake in the Black Forest, and also hike along the spectacular Wutach river gorge in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park. In the northern part, we will walk near the Battert-Rock (Battert Felsen), wich boasts the most important climbing school in the entire Black Forest.
We will visit the most interesting cities in the surroundings, Freiburg and the spa town of Baden Baden, where we will still have time to relax in one of the many thermal spas in the area. An outdoor museum of traditional farms in the Black Forest will be another interesting visit within this programme.
This is a hiking programme of Low/Intermediate physical difficulty level. Please note you can check the day-by-day detailed itinerary below.
This trip will be an unforgettable experience, whether you travel alone or as a group. So if you want to join me, check the dates below and book your trip. We will spend an amazing time with this Black Forest hiking tour.
Arrival at Stuttgart airport. Welcoming and transfer by road to the reserved accommodation and presentation of the program.
Freiburg im Breisgau, “The Free City”, is the capital of the Black Forest and one of the most important university cities in Germany. It offers us endless possibilities. Its jovial atmosphere, in balance with the nature that surrounds it -where the bicycle is the vehicle most used by the friburgueses- make this city a place where everyone feels comfortable. Its Catholic cathedral dominates the market square, where the merchants of the region come daily to sell their merchandise, from medieval times. In the afternoon, we will enjoy an activity that combines a tram ride crossing the city, with the visit to one of the most known neighborhoods, due to the high ecological standards with which it was conceived.
Today we will visit the Farms Museum, an open-air tourist activity and one of the biggest ethnographic attractions of the whole Black Forest massif. We will walk through a piece of land of several hectares, visiting the different types of constructions, that over the last five centuries have been built in the Black Forest. Then we will go to Hornberg, where we will make our first trekking route through the Black Florest, a low-medium level route that runs through the mountains that surround the city. We will also reach the cliffs of Windeck, from where we will enjoy beautiful views of the Castle and the Offenbach valley.
Today we will go to the Southern Black Forest Nature Park, for a mid-level hiking activity, walking along one of the best preserved deciduous forests in the Black Forest massif, due to its difficult access, surrounding the gorge formed by the Wutach river, affluent of the Rhine river. We will end the day with a gastronomic activity, in a mountain farm, where we will enjoy a typical dinner from the Black Forest region, made with the natural products of the surrounding farms, enjoying the tranquility of a unique environment.
Hiking activity of low / medium level that runs through one of the most interesting natural areas of the Black Forest, not only for its beauty, but also for the rugged terrain, the darkness of the waters of the Feldsee Lake, the fauna and flora diversity of the area and many other interesting things that we will find on the path. Then we will visit Titisee Lake, the largest natural glacier lake in the Black Forest.
Today we will hike on an interesting route through the wonderful centuries-old forests near Baden Baden, on the edge of the National Park, with excellent views over the city from the cliffs of the Battert-Rock (Battert Felsen). This is a natural space with a greater protection degree due to its unaltered ecosystems, being a nesting place for scarce species such as the Peregrine falcon. And finally we will visit the spa town of Baden-Baden, with time to enjoy some of its thermal water spas. Since the 1st Century a.C. the Romans made this region known especially for its waters properties.
Today we will say goodbye, hoping you have had a nice trip and enjoyed our programme.

Hi, nice to meet you!
I am working together with Laura Carmona González, we both were born in Spain and now we are living in the north of the Black Forest in Germany, close to the German Alps and the Vosges in France. Now I am going to tell you something else about myself.
I was born in Spain in a small village between Toledo and Madrid, nearby the Spanish Central Mountain Range. I have been living for some years in Scotland, New Zealand and 8 years in Germany. Spanish is my mother tongue and I talk fluent English and German as well as a bit of French.
I am qualified trekking, MTB and horse riding guide as well as Black Forest Middle-North Natural Park Guide - Schwarzwald Guide. Two years ago I finished my qualification as a Mountain Leader UIMLA.
Nature and mountains are a very important thing for me from long time ago, that is why I decided to take this hobby as my profession. I have worked more than fifteen years as a trekking, MTB and horse riding guide for many companies and travel agencies in different countries in the world.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
