We had a fantastic tour with Slotrips. We did the two-night hut to-Hut tour with Domen as our guide. The hike itself was spectacular- beautiful and diverse scenery with fields of wildflowers and thick forests and then alpine terrain. The communication before the trip and during was excellent. Domen adjusted the hike for our capacity and wishes, staying aware of how we were doing and thinking about alternatives. He knew every trail so well and shared his knowledge about nature and Slovenia. We learned a ton from him. He was such a wonderful guide and nice to hang out with. Thank you for a unforgettable start of our fantastic Slovenian holiday.
This trip was unbelievable. The company itself did a wonderful job working hard to secure us accommodation at this time of year (most huts weren’t open yet). Although difficult at times due to the snow still on the mountain this early in the season (June 18th) our guide Aljaz expertly navigated us around the snow when possible and ensured our safety navigating through the snow when necessary. He completely customized our hiking experience to suit our level adding on extra mountain peaks when possible. He was better than I ever expected. The mountains themselves were gorgeous! I could not recommend this enough!
The 3 day hut-to-hut tour of the Julian Alps offered by Slotrips was one of the highlights of my trip in Slovenia. It was an incredible and intense trekking experience… from impressive views, to the thrill of hiking on narrow mountain ridges; from spotting chamois & marmots, to coming across former Yugoslavia/ Italy border markers; and from sleeping in remote mountain huts, to laughing with new friends :) Domen, our guide, was super flexible and adapted the trek based on our physical ability and wishes as a group. Knowing so many unmarked trails and the history of the country, he went above and beyond my expectations! I would highly recommend a guided tour with Slotrips!
Our 3-day hike exceeded all of my expectations! It was well planned, along a challenging trail with spectacular scenery. Along the way we passed through alpine pastures and even got to same cheeses that were made right on the mountainside. We stayed in mountain huts both nights, where we were comfortable and well fed. Our guide was interesting and always made sure we were safe. Miha was easy to communicate with over email, always responding to messages quickly. I appreciated that we were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. And the price of the trip was very affordable. I would love to do this hike again and would recommend it to everyone!
We (me, my husband and two teenage sons) went on the 3-day hut to hut hike. The whole experience was exceptional. When planning our trip communication with Domen and Anja was always, prompt, friendly and informative. Our guide was Aljaz. He made sure we were comfortable and informed and having a great time. He was always positive and interesting and did a fantastic job of being there when we needed him and giving us space for family time too. He went out of his way to connect with my son, which made it an especially memorable experience for him. A certain level of fitness is required, they say this in the description - I wouldn't disregard this. I sort of thought I was fit but I had to push myself. That wasn't really hard though, because for inspiration all you have to do is look around; it's always beautiful - always, everywhere - from the time you step out of the van. And of course the challenge makes you feel like you've accomplished something. If you are considering this adventure, don't let anything stop you.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
