I will guide over 3 informative and fun days of backcountry skiing, where not only will you learn the best techniques, skills and tools to use to maximize your enjoyment and safety, but you will also be exposed to some of the most beautiful scenery and landscape in the Pacific Northwest, at the marvelous Snoqualmie Pass, near Seattle, Washington.
Located just 54 miles from the state capital of Seattle, Snoqualmie Pass is a tranquil, idyllic slice of paradise in Washington State, and has long been considered a veritable outdoor activity mecca, especially for Winter activities. The tree-lined alpine forests lead to some brilliant vast open valleys, making for optimal skiing conditions.
We meet on the first day, where important basic equipment and safety information is dispensed, before we head off on to the slopes, where we teach you vital techniques about the skiing itself, as well as walking and terrain management.
The following 2 days follow much the same path, as we ski around the awe-inspiring landscapes, stopping to admire the sweeping panoramic views, breath in the fresh and crisp Winter air and continue to teach you more important information, such as map work and avalanche scenarios.
We finish after the three days hopefully having taught you enough for you to feel confident with the basics of ski touring, and also having whetted your appetite to discover more ski touring in the great state of Washington.
