Backcountry skiing in Stowe, Introductory clinic on Mount Mansfield (Ranch Valley)

Welcome to the beautiful Mount Mansfield in Vermont. This 1,340m high mountain is the tallest in the state and towers over the surrounding landscape!

Located about 40km east of Vermont’s largest city Burlington and its international airport, this wonderful mountain provides some top quality backcountry skiing opportunites.

I am delighted to offer this half-day introductorty course and share my passion for those who would like to embark on this fantastic activity of backcountry skiing.

This introductory course will last roughly 2 hours and will cover all the important ground concerning backcountry skiing.

We will examine the correct equipment to use, how to plan your trips and the requisite techniques.

During the course we will explore our local ‘Ranch Valley’ which offers a stunning woodland in which to practice.

Although this course is not too long or intense, you need to be of an intermediate skiing level to make the most of it.

This is the perfect opportunity for you to get your foot in the door with backcountry skiing and to learn everything the right way before you can develop bad habits.
