If you are looking for fantastic backcountry ski terrain with deep powder snow and beautiful scenery, then look no further because the Rocky Mountains near Colorado Springs have it all!
Located about 2 hours drive west of Colorado Springs, you will find some of the best backcountry skiing terrain anywhere in the world, with pristine nature and largely unoccupied mountain slopes.
Join me for a day and forget about waiting in queues or working to avoid other skiers on the crowded pistes. This area offers virgin snows and spectacular vistas!
You should be at least an intermediate level skier to get the most out of this day.
I will be with you on the slopes, I can give you tips and recommendations regarding technique and the terrain, as well as guarding our saftey at all times.
I will cover the following topics: Avalanche rescue, how to plan trips, equipment requirements, how to manage risk, effective communication on the mountain, how to use a beacon correctly, how to select the best terrain and much more.
I know this region intimately so I can choose the best spots for us depending on your preference and the weather in the moment.
Some of the options include: Monarch Pass near Salida, Hoosier Pass near Breckenridge, Glen Cove on Pikes Peak and Crags and Devils Playground on Pikes Peak.
